A SPECIAL THANKS TO OUR VOLUNTEERS

The Foster Children’s Foundation (FCF) just wanted to take a minute to say thanks to our wonderful volunteers.

We are blessed to have so many wonderful, caring people who make up the FCF family.

Some special thanks –

  • Thanks to the Jr. League of Women of Gwinnett and N. Fulton for helping with the Open House and Macy’s Shop for a Cause.
  • Thank you to everyone who helped us fill a truck with needed supplies that went to help hurricane victims
  • Thank you to McCollister’s Trucking who transported the goods to those victims in need.
  • Thank you to the Women of Sugarloaf Country Club for their support with the Tour of Homes
  • Thanks to Keller Williams who helped with a huge book bag and school supply drive and is currently doing a project to help for the holidays.
  • Thanks to those who help us with the Annual Holiday parties, Picnic and Easter Egg Hunt
  • Thanks to those who provide financial support to the FCF – without you, we could not provide for the needs of these children.
  • Thanks to all the media who help us by keeping the public informed.
  • Thanks to every church, school, civic and social clubs who are always there to help with needs.
  • Thanks to Our very own Junior Executive Committee (JEC) for doing a great job on the Haunted Train and Halloween carnival for little ones. Last days are next Friday and Saturday – If you haven’t already gone – you won’t want to miss it. For those of you not familiar with the JEC, these are High School students who do fundraising events, put on the annual Easter egg hunt and many other projects to help foster children. This is an amazing group of students who devote much of their time to helping others and bettering our community and are our future leaders. If you know of a High School student who would like to get involved, have them contact Mandi at mgeske@earthlink.net or call 770-623-6135
  • Thank you to the 20 – 30 different students each night who have helped by at the Haunted Train.
  • Thanks to Bert a.k.a. “Huggs the Clown” – she is at all our events painting faces, clowning around and making children smile. She has also been at the Haunted Train doing an incredible job of face painting the 20 to 30 volunteers who have been there every Friday and Saturday night for the last two weeks.
  • Thanks to the many volunteers who are working very hard on the mentoring program.
  • Thanks to those who help with public relations, writing, editing and brainstorming over ways to help the children.
  • Thanks to those who help at the Arena with the many events there.
  • Thanks to the JEC mentors for guiding our students on a path to become leaders.
  • Thanks to the many foster children who volunteer their time to help the FCF and others.
  • Thanks to the many volunteers who wish to remain anonymous.

We want to send a very special thanks to the volunteers who work very hard behind the scenes to constantly to keep the Resource Center ready for foster children. We wanted to share with everyone that on Saturday, Oct 22nd, we had an open house at the center and were able to help 51 foster children with winter coats, warm clothing, pajamas, shoes, hygiene products and much more. If you’d like to help or meet these wonderful volunteers, go to the resource center located at 3777 Abbotts Bridge Rd. Duluth, GA 30096 any Monday or Wednesday from 10:00 to 1:00. They would welcome the help and be proud to take you on a tour of the center.

After serving that many children Saturday, we are running very low on many items. If you are able to help by donating any of the following items it would be greatly appreciated.

Shampoo, conditioner, body spray and wash, deodorant, shaving crème and razors, hair brushes and combs, acne crème, ethnic hair care products and any other hygiene products that can be used by children and youth ages birth to 18.

Thanks to those who help spread the word about the Foster Children’s Foundation and the work we do with the children.

Thanks to each of you, our volunteers, member of the FCF family for all that you do to make a difference in the lives of the many foster children in our community. You are the Foundation!

A special thanks also to our wonderful Board of Directors and our who give of their time and talents because they care and have seen what a difference can be made when a community comes together to help these children who are unable to help themselves. To see a list of our Board of Directors, please see the attachment. If you have not had the opportunity to meet the members of our Board, take the time to. You will be glad you did.

To all the children we help, thank you for allowing our family the opportunity to be better people.
